Collagen is the most abundant protein in animals, accounting for 70% of human skin protein. In the dermis, collagen forms a network with other substances that help the skin stabilize its structure, strength, and elasticity. At present, there are many studies on the improvement of skin with oral collagen peptides. It is found that oral collagen peptides can improve skin conditions, reduce beryllium lines, increase skin moisture, repair photodamaged skin, and delay aging.
The main mechanism is that after the intake of collagen peptides, it can increase the expression of collagen in the skin, reduce the activity of matrix metalloproteinase 2, and affect the proliferation of fibroblasts and the formation of collagen fibers in the form of specific proteins.

Collagen peptides are widely used worldwide as a new type of functional food ingredient. Method:
Inclusion criteria for experimental subjects: 35 qualified volunteers, aged 30-50 years old. Before the start of the experiment, all volunteers signed the informed consent.
Exclusion criteria: ① Those who have received facial treatment within two months; ② Those who have taken drugs or health products related to the test function within one month, which will affect the judgment of the results; ③ Pregnant or lactating women; ④ Mental patients, Alcohol and drug addicts; ⑤ patients with systemic diseases or severe skin diseases; ⑥ people with a history of allergy to health products and other severe allergies;
Mainly test skin moisture, oil and elasticity; visia digital skin analyzer (USA), mainly test 8 indicators of skin spots, wrinkles, pores, texture, purple porphyrin, ultraviolet spots, brown spots, and red areas.
Result:
Visia test results: After oral administration of cod skin collagen oligopeptides, the skin wrinkles, texture, pores, red areas, purple porphyrin, moisture, and oil in the test group were significantly improved, and there were significant differences compared with those before the test and the control group ( P<0.05); Spots, ultraviolet spots, and brown spots were slightly improved, but there was no significant difference compared with before feeding and the control group (P>0.05); the skin indicators of the control group had no significant changes before and after the experiment (P>0.05) .
It can be seen from the figure that after oral administration of cod skin collagen oligopeptides, the skin moisture and elasticity value of the test group increased, and the sebum content decreased, which was significantly different from that before oral administration (P<0.05).
Summary:
In this study, the skin moisture, sebum, elasticity, wrinkle, texture, pores, red area, and porphyrin indexes of the test group were significantly improved, which is consistent with previous studies. This may be because this product is rich in low-molecular collagen oligopeptides, which can increase the collagen content in the dermis, improve skin structure, and promote skin metabolism.
In the Visia test, the spots, ultraviolet spots, and brown spots of the test group were improved, but the statistical difference was not significant. It may be the experiment time was only 1 month, and the improvement of photodamage was not obvious, which is consistent with the previous results of Danish scholar Kieffer et al. The experimental results showed that after 6 months of oral administration of collagen peptides, the echo and density of the papillary dermis and reticular dermis of the photodamaged skin increased.
In addition, this experiment also conducted a questionnaire, and the results showed that the physical strength, sleep and skin of the test group were improved, which may be because collagen peptides have the effects of improving immunity and anti-oxidation.
